Baltimore Dancers Welcome Misty Copeland!
On Saturday, August 1, 2015, Dance Baltimore hosted a very special reception at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland for prima ballerina MISTY COPELAND, the first African American principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre. Co presented by Baltimore Dance Tech and the Western High School Alumni Dance Ensemble, the reception brought local dancers together to congratulate Ms. Copeland on her accomplishments and to wish her ongoing success in the future. Dance Baltimore Board President Maria Broom, along with attending elders, offered a very special blessing to Ms. Copeland and a special gift, a one of a kind poster, designed by Renee Pitts.
