Peace and Love My Dear Great Big Dance Family...
There are not enough words to tell you how much I love you....
how grateful I am to you...how overwhelmed I am by all of the love and caring
and generosity that's being offered to me during this tender time.
Ask Cheryl. Every time she calls to give me updates on the donations from the
fundraiser (and they are still coming in, she says)...all I do is cry on the phone.
She tries to explain that you reap as you sow. I understand, but still it is
overwhelming.
The TV commercial says "Life comes at you fast." Well, I really know what that
means now. One day you're on stage performing at two different schools and
within 72 hours, without any warning whatsoever you're admitted to the
emergency room and then into an operating room where they cut out eight
inches of colon that had turned purple and then sew the rest of it back together.
You're in the hospital for eight days with tubes and and IV's and catheters,
unable to drink even a sip of water. And then you're back home waiting patiently
every day for your body to once again feel like 'your body'.
All of your bookings and classes are cancelled for at least two months and your
healing includes trying to eat things that do not create gas.
Please please please dear dancers...eat and rest well!
We are the strongest of the lot when it comes to artists, so we never ever think
about being knocked off our feet. Take good care of yourself very time you think
about. Our bodies are our tools.
Well enough of this chatter. I just wanted to tell you thank you so much for your
love. And attached to this email is a T-Moblie television commercial that was
filmed at a train station I think in Bristol, England.
So much dancing. I loved it. I just cried. But then everything makes me cry these
days. Hope you enjoy this little video.
Hugs and blessings and much much good fortune ~ Maria
